Chris Paul is often mentioned as the current player who would make the best future NBA head coach. Paul has long been considered a coach on the floor, but he has no interest in the lifestyle of a head coach when he retires.
"No chance," said Paul. "It's the time. I don't want to travel like that. I want to be around the game as much as possible. I watch every game. But I want to be around my kids and family."
Paul will retire with approximately $300 million in career earnings.
Lance Stephenson is eyeing a return to the NBA, league sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.
Stephenson averaged 26.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in China last season.
Stephenson is reportedly willing to work out with a team to prove his value.
The 29-year-old Stephenson played 68 games for the Lakers during the 2018-19 season.
Malik Monk has been suspended indefinitely by the NBA for violating the league's anti-drug program.
Monk is in his third season with the Charlotte Hornets and is averaging 10.3 points in 55 games.
Monk's reinstatement will be determined by when he is full compliance with the program.
"The Charlotte Hornets are disappointed in Malik's decision making that resulted in his suspension," said the Hornets in a statement. "As an organization, we do not condone his behavior. However, we are committed to supporting Malik during this time."
