In the wake of his stunning victory over Anthony Joshua, boxing’s unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr has slammed his beaten opponent as “not good at boxing” and promising to win again when the pair meet for a rematch.
Ruiz, 29, stunned Joshua — and the boxing world — to become the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO champion three weeks ago, and is already preparing to face Joshua again.

The duo’s second meeting could happen as early as November or December with a return to New York’s Madison Square Garden a distinct possibility.
The famed venue played host to the pair’s first bout, where Joshua was making his US debut.
“The rematch is going to be the same. I am going to be more prepared and more ready,” Ruiz said.
“I know his flaws. I can do a lot better. The only thing that he can do is just run around.
“He’s not good at boxing. He’s not a good boxer.”
Many pundits gave Ruiz no chance of victory over Joshua with fans and commentators alike slamming the Mexican fighter’s physique ahead of the fight.
Ruiz had been a late replacement, taking the fight with just six weeks’ notice, and weighed in almost ten kilograms heavier than Joshua.
“People thought I wasn’t going to do anything, I was too big, too overweight,” Ruiz said.
“I don’t want to say all the things I am going to change (for the rematch).
“There is going to be a lot of changing, I am going to come at a better weight this time. It’s going to be a hell of a fight.”
Ruiz reportedly earned US$7 million (A$10m) for the fight, and told reporters his first purchase with that purse was a gift for his family.
“First of all I bought a car for my mum, that was the first purchase I made from the money I got.
“I messed up a lot of her cars when I was young so I got her a brand-new car.”
